Social Skills

For many children with autism, the hardest part of the day isn't academics, it's recess. The unwritten rules of friendship, the speed of group conversation, the regulation it takes to stay in the game, these are skills, and skills can be taught.

How our program works

We run small social skills groups (typically 2-4 children) matched by age, language ability, and social goals. We also offer 1:1 social coaching for kids who aren't ready for a group yet, or who need targeted work alongside their group.

What we cover

Joining and leaving conversations
Reading facial expressions and body language
Handling disagreements without melting down or shutting down
Perspective-taking and theory of mind
Conversational reciprocity (not just answering, but asking back)
Self-advocacy and asking for help
Coping with teasing, exclusion, and social mistakes

What parents tell us

The most common piece of feedback we hear: "My child came home from a birthday party for the first time and didn't say it was awful." That's the goal. Confidence, connection, and a kid who looks forward to seeing other kids.
